When a man lived in a single room, he had space enough to let a guest stay with him in his apartment. When he enlarged his living quarters to two rooms, he was no longer able to accommodate a guest. When he prospered and attained an apartment of three rooms, the space became too small even for him...
It is better to have one bird in a cage than a hundred in the air.
If you don't run so far, the way back will be shorter.
A person should always consider himself to be half wicked and half righteous. If he did one mitzvah, praiseworthy is he, for he tipped himself toward the side of righteousness. If he sinned, woe is to him, for he tipped himself toward the side of guilt.
