A person should always consider himself to be half wicked and half righteous. If he did one mitzvah, praiseworthy is he, for he tipped himself toward the side of righteousness. If he sinned, woe is to him, for he tipped himself toward the side of guilt.
I love the wicked man who knows he is wicked more than the righteous man who knows he is righteous. But concerning the wicked who consider themselves righteous, it is said: They do not turn even on the threshold of Hell. For they think they are being sent to Hell to redeem the souls of others.
The world is in serious trouble...
