He who could have kept the members of his household, his fellow citizens, or the whole world back from sinning and refrained from doing so is held responsible for their sins, and even if his own life is exemplary and blameless, he gets judged and punished first of all if he has kept himself to himself and not done everything to improve his fellow men.

Never become discouraged. This is the important rule of all.
A person must be very stubborn when it comes to the serving of G-d.
Occupy yourself with good deeds and the bad will fall away by itself.
From the moment that a person considers repentance, his prayers are accepted.
Know that a person walks through life on a very narrow bridge. Most important of all is not to be afraid.
No sophistication is needed in serving G-d. All that is required is simplicity, sincerity, and faith.
When a person firmly believes that everything that happens to him is for his own good, then he has reached a semblance of the World to Come.
